The EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) comes into force across the European Union on 25th May 2018 and brings with it the most significant changes to data protection law in two decades. Based on privacy by design and taking a risk-based approach, the GDPR has been designed to meet the requirements of the digital age.
We are committed to ensuring the security and protection of the personal information that we process, and to provide a compliant and consistent approach to data protection. With respect to its platform and services, we consider Awakening Vector customers to be the data controller and Awakening Vector itself the data processor.
Awakening Vector has updated its policies and practices to reflect changes in data privacy laws, specifically the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union. We have also established a workflow that designed to deliver what is required by the legislation. It involves privacy and security training to annotators, it ensures the use of Awakening Vector product and services will be consistent with GDPR.
The data security breaching is closely monitored by the team manager of annotators as well as company management team.
Specific Data Protection and Governance function:
Ø Service Agreement: Adding the GDPR Data Protection Addendum (DPA) supports GDPR compliance for both our customers and Awakening Vector.
Ø Policies & Procedures: our main policy and procedure document for data protection has been overhauled to meet the standards and requirements of the GDPR. Accountability and governance measures are in place to ensure that we understand and adequately disseminate and evidence our obligations and responsibilities; with a dedicated focus on privacy by design and the rights of individuals.
Ø Legal Basis for Processing: we are reviewing all processing activities to identify the legal basis for processing and ensuring that each basis is appropriate for the activity it relates to. Where applicable, we also maintain records of our processing activities, ensuring that our obligations under Article 30 of the GDPR and Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Bill are met.
Ø Data Impact Assessments: we have completed the systematic review of the personal data we store, manage, maintain, collect, process and control.

Ø Training & Awareness: We have completed and will provide ongoing GDPR training of the Awakening Vector staff.
